Choosing the right service

Thea's asynchronous pathway is designed for convenient, low-touch management of many straightforward concerns, primarily through topical treatment. The comprehensive consultation is a separate 30-minute video visit provided by Dermatologic Services, PLLC, directly with Dr. Shaikh. It is intended for patients seeking a more detailed assessment, oral treatment options, continuity, or a complex treatment plan.

Yes. The comprehensive consultation is a scheduled video visit directly with Dr. Gibran Shaikh.

Yes. Consultations are available in English or Spanish.

Some conditions require dermoscopy, biopsy, surgery, injections, laboratory testing, or urgent in-person assessment. Emergencies and potentially serious or rapidly changing lesions should not be managed through this service.

Dr. Shaikh may recommend in-person evaluation or another type of specialist care. Payment policies for visits determined to be unsuitable are described in the cancellation and refund policy.

Booking and payment

The initial comprehensive consultation is $250. Follow-up video visits are $150. Medication, laboratory testing, pharmacy charges, and future visits are separate.

These visits are cash-pay and are not billed directly to insurance. A superbill may be available upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed.

Please provide clear photographs, your current medication list, allergies, prior treatments, relevant laboratory results, and the name of your preferred pharmacy.

Follow-up timing depends on the diagnosis and treatment. Established-patient follow-up video visits are currently $150.

Patients may reschedule or cancel according to the cancellation policy displayed during booking.

Medications and treatment

Dr. Shaikh may discuss oral or compounded treatment when medically appropriate. The consultation does not guarantee spironolactone, doxycycline, isotretinoin, oral tranexamic acid, hydroquinone, or any other specific treatment.

Yes. The consultation can assess whether isotretinoin may be appropriate. Isotretinoin treatment requires compliance with the iPLEDGE program, follow-up, monitoring, and pregnancy-prevention requirements where applicable.

No. Consultation fees cover the physician service. Medication, shipping, laboratory testing, and pharmacy costs are separate.

Prescriptions may be sent to Apothecary Group or another appropriate pharmacy selected by the patient, depending on the treatment, availability, and applicable state requirements.

Privacy, eligibility, and policies

Availability depends on the state where you will be physically located during the video visit. The booking process will confirm whether care is available in that state.
